Me and my Cronies

I'm not going to "blow smoke up your...", well you know, and try to make you think I am a political writer of any sort. I did watch the debate tonight and found it to be much of the same. I know people are going to disect it and try to make some news out of it, but I don't think it was anything that will hold the headlines past tomorrow. I did find it humorous that cronyism was thrown out there like it is something new for politics. The "good old boy's club" has been running this nation since the begining. That's not going to change.

Since crony and cronyism are volcanic on Google with people trying to figure out what the hell it means, here is what Wikipedia says;

"Cronyism is partiality to long-standing friends, especially by appointing them to positions of authority, regardless of their qualifications."

Bored? Fix yourself some buttered toast and go check out The Plug.

This is a bit hard to explain really, it's one of those things you just need to see for yourself. Maybe I would call it an online zine. Let me recommend the Treasure Hunt in issue #31. I'm not sure you will thank me for it, but what the hell, your bored anyway!

It's too early for this!

I'm going to create a new category label of insane insights for the best creative stuff I find around the net. So, here is the first installment.

While sipping my morning cup of java, I found my way to this site MethCoffee.com, not sure exactly how though.

Has anyone tried this?

Yes this is a very creative name and has been blasted out in the news before, but what I really wanted to show you was the video below.

Smarter than your average beer drinker?

Just because your a connoisseur of good beer, doesn't mean your smart enough to brew it.

I found this out after just reading about the brewing process. Have a read of this article that takes you from start to finish of the brewing process. Just don't have your beer goggles on while you do it!

How to Brew Commercial Beer (wikiHow)

Anyone know what kind of beer this is? Yeah, I know it's easy.

Live fish pedicure

Live fish pedicures? Another WTF!

I was watching the news this morning and this story caught my attention. That was in part because I poked a little fun at PETA yesterday, but this is a story I'm surprised that they are not all over.

A salon is using live fish as a new pedicure service. Basically, you stick your foot in a fish bowl and they eat away all the dead skin. Eventually the State stepped in and is putting a stop to it, but only because you can't sanitize the fish, as is the law for pedicure implements. Apparently, it's a hit in China though.

You can watch it in action with this video from http://www.king5.com/.

Should a 33 year old guy be wet nursed?

Maybe I shouldn't go there, but read this article about PETA sending Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream a suggestion to use human breast milk.

That's right, I said human breast milk. I must say that they make some good points on the subject, but I'm not sure I would go out and buy a fresh squeezed latte or anything. Yeah, I was thinking about suggesting they promote the idea to Starbucks or maybe Borden. I went ahead and designed a sample package, just in case they want to run with the idea.

Is God checking your MySpace?

Are your social networking sites exposing a little too much of yourself? I have heard that employers have caught on to a new trend and searched the sites for dirt on potential candidates, but this story goes way beyond that!

Check out his story from LarkNews.com about a Pastor who follows his congregation’s social networking sites. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just a drop in to say hi, but he gets all their "sins" and uses them in his sermons!

Last Sunday, Pastor Irwin Alton, 62, preached against
several specific sins during his sermon. Some people in the audience gasped with
recognition. "When he talked about skipping mid-week service to go to the lake,
and buying a new boat when you haven’t tithed, I felt nailed to my pew," said
one man. "It was like the Holy Spirit was speaking right to me."

Hmm, this has me rethinking those privacy settings.
